Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has looked back on his WWE tenure and acknowledged he wasn’t giving his full effort to the business during that run.

Steveson arrived in the early 2020s as one of WWE’s most hyped signings, joining the company in September 2021. His stint wrapped in May 2024. Despite the buzz, his time on television was limited—he competed in just one televised match on NXT, facing Baron Corbin.

With his release now in the rearview, Steveson’s candid reflection sheds light on a stop-and-start chapter that never truly gained momentum.
