There are not many acts in pro wrestling history that can honestly say they changed the sport. The Hardy Boyz can. TLC matches, ladder matches, tables matches a generation of fans grew up watching Matt and Jeff Hardy do things in that ring nobody had seen before. Efrain from KYW sat down with them ahead of their Bound for Glory match against Team 3D for a conversation on legacy, the next generation, and what the end of a career actually looks like when you built one worth talking about.
Fair warning the audio cut out mid-conversation. Efrain forgot to hit stop and unplugged everything live. One camera recovered a corrupted file and this is what survived. It is raw and real and honestly it fits the Hardy Boyz better than a clean studio sit-down ever would.
What made it to tape is worth every second. Matt and Jeff talk about what it felt like stepping back into a ring with Team 3D after 25 years, why TNA felt like the right second home, and who they are pouring into now. Leon Slater comes up immediately Matt calls him his new favorite wrestler without hesitation. Jeff talks about his daughter Ruby asking about setting up a ring at home. The Hardy legacy might not be finished yet.
They are not setting a retirement date. No John Cena final year announcement. Just two guys who love pro wrestling, still feel good, and are not ready to stop until the body tells them otherwise. Thirty-three years in and it still does not feel like a job to them. That part is not a talking point. You can hear it.
