Before he became The Phenom in WWE, The Undertaker was working in WCW as Mean Mark. Despite his efforts, he was told he wouldn’t be a major drawing act, which pushed him to explore other opportunities.
Behind the scenes, Bruce Prichard and Paul Heyman were impressed by his work in WCW. Prichard pushed to bring him to WWE, and a meeting with Vince McMahon was arranged. Vince agreed to watch him, but that sit-down ended up being postponed.
