Bandido Wants A Shot At New AEW World Champ Darby Allin

Bandido is riding for Darby Allin as AEW World Champion. And he wants next. He straight up said he’s very happy Darby grabbed the top spot and hopes he can get a shot against him.

Darby just hit the biggest win of his AEW run last month, taking the AEW World Championship off MJF for the first world title of his career. Since then he’s already stacked successful defenses on Dynamite over Tommaso Ciampa and Brody King. That’s a quick flex-heavy start to a reign. Bandido sees it, respects it, and clearly wants to test himself against it.

This isn’t a bitter callout. It reads like a competitor tipping his cap and stepping to the plate. Bandido’s message hits simple: Darby as champ is good news, and if the door’s open for challengers, he’d love to walk through it.

On paper, Bandido vs. Darby is instant chaos in the best way. Darby lives on that high-speed, high-impact edge, throwing his body like a weapon and feeding off the crowd’s heartbeat. Bandido’s a power-lucha hybrid who can go from top-rope acrobatics to freaky strength at any moment. One guy flies like he doesn’t care about gravity. The other wrestles like gravity owes him money. That’s a collision fans only need one graphic to buy into.

The rhythm of that match writes itself. Darby sprints early and takes risks to get Bandido off balance. Bandido absorbs, times one counter, and suddenly it’s a barrage of high pace and heavy slams. Every Darby dive becomes a gamble. Every Bandido lift becomes a statement. Both dudes are built for the kind of crowd pop that catches on camera mics.

And Darby’s opening stretch as champion backs the idea he’ll take that kind of challenge. Beating Ciampa and Brody King on Dynamite shows range in opponent types and zero hesitation. If the champ’s mission is “anyone, anywhere,” Bandido fits right in with that energy.

Bandido tossing his name in isn’t politics. It’s hunger. He’s not dunking on the champ. He’s giving him flowers and then saying, cool, let’s see if I can take that from you. That’s the perfect babyface vibe against a babyface champion: respect first, smoke second.

There’s also the crowd piece. Both guys have real connections with fans for different reasons. Darby’s whole aura is “dare me to try it.” Bandido’s is “you didn’t think I could do that, did you?” Together, that’s a roller coaster where you never see the next hill coming, you just hear the pop when it hits.

However AEW lines up contenders next, this one checks every box: fresh matchup, wild style clash, and stakes that feel big because of how Darby’s reign started. First world title run, already sprinting through defenses, and now a world-class luchador saying he wants in. That’s not just a good TV hook. That’s the kind of main event that makes a Wednesday feel like a pay-per-view.

Bandido kept it simple: he’s happy Darby is the guy, and he hopes he can get a shot. Sometimes the most straightforward pitch is the strongest. No trash talk needed. Just two madmen volunteering to find out who can outpace the other while the title’s on the line.

If Darby keeps running through challengers on Dynamite, don’t be shocked if this one lands in his path. The champ is active. The challenger is eager. The matchup sells itself the second their names share a graphic. Line it up and let the chaos decide.
