Lola Vice Credits Mr. Iguana for Her Lucha Libre Growth

Lola Vice is making serious noise in AAA, and she’s been open about who deserves credit for helping her find her footing in lucha libre.

In a recent interview with Jimmy V3, Vice talked about her experience working in AAA and specifically called out Mr. Iguana as someone who has helped her “so much” throughout her lucha libre journey. That’s a genuine shoutout, not a throwaway line.

The two have built real chemistry together. Back in February, Vice and Iguana captured the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships, and they’re still holding those titles right now. That’s a reign that’s been going on for months, which tells you this pairing isn’t just a random experiment — AAA clearly believes in what these two are doing together.

For anyone who hasn’t been watching AAA, Mr. Iguana is a legitimate cult favorite in lucha libre. The guy has been putting in work for years, known for his high-energy style and his connection with the lucha fanbase. Having someone like that in your corner when you’re learning the nuances of lucha — the crowd interaction, the pacing, the culture — is a massive advantage.

Lola Vice came up through combat sports before making the transition to professional wrestling. She was a professional MMA fighter, and WWE fans know her from her time on NXT where she brought that legitimate striking background into her character. She’s athletic, she’s physical, and she clearly has the work ethic to keep expanding her game.

The AAA run has been a chance for Vice to show a completely different side of herself. Lucha libre has its own rhythm and its own rules, and not every wrestler can just walk in and connect with that audience. The fact that she and Iguana are reigning champions suggests she’s done more than just show up — she’s actually put in the time to get it right.

Mixed tag team wrestling in AAA carries real prestige. It’s not a throwaway division. The Mixed Tag titles have history behind them, and holding them for an extended stretch means Vice is becoming a legitimate part of the AAA landscape, not just a guest appearance.

The bigger picture here is that Vice is building her resume in a serious way. Holding gold in AAA while staying relevant in the broader wrestling conversation puts her in a strong position whenever she decides what her next chapter looks like. Whether that leads back to a major U.S. promotion or keeps her carving out a lane on the international scene, she’s clearly not standing still.

Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana are still your AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions. Don’t sleep on this reign.
