Kit Wilson has been navigating WWE television solo while his Pretty Deadly partner Elton Prince recovers from neck fusion surgery. That is not an easy spot to be in. Tag teams live and die together, and when one guy is out, the other is basically treading water until further notice.
While making an appearance on Busted Open, Wilson opened up about how he has been handling that stretch and what ideas he had been throwing around behind the scenes.
One of those ideas? Pitching himself as part of Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice.
If you have been watching SmackDown, you know what the Secret Hervice is. Chelsea Green built herself a little entourage with Piper Niven and has been running that stable as her own personal protection unit and hype squad rolled into one. It is a good bit. Green has been one of the more consistently entertaining acts on the roster over the last couple of years, and the stable gave her something to build around.
Wilson said his pitch actually started gaining some traction internally. People were listening. It was not just a random idea that got laughed out of the room.
But then there was a pivot. The direction changed and Wilson ended up going a different way instead of linking up with Green’s group.
He did not get deep into the details of why the pivot happened or what specifically shifted, but the fact that it got real consideration at all says something. Wilson clearly has people in the company paying attention to what he brings creatively, even while his tag partner is on the shelf.
Pretty Deadly has always been one of those acts that feels like it should be higher on the card. The duo has legit comedic timing and can actually work, which is a combination WWE does not always know what to do with. They had a solid run in NXT and have had their moments on the main roster, but consistent meaningful positioning has been tough to come by.
With Prince out, Wilson has a chance to show what he can do on his own. That is either an opportunity or a slow fade depending on how creative uses him. The Secret Hervice pitch suggests he is at least being proactive about it, throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks.
Green, meanwhile, has been rolling. Her character work has been sharp and the Hervice concept has given her more ways to stay in stories without needing to be in a title match every week. Adding Wilson to that mix would have been an interesting wrinkle, a guy who leans into the comedic side of things pairing with someone who has made that her entire identity on screen.
Maybe it still happens down the road. WWE creative directions shift constantly, and what gets passed on one month sometimes comes back around when the timing makes more sense.
For now, Kit Wilson is out there figuring it out solo. Prince’s recovery timeline has not been made public, so there is no telling when Pretty Deadly gets back together. Until then, Wilson is pitching ideas and staying visible. That is honestly the right move.
