AAA ran another episode of AAA on Fox on May 16, coming out of Auditorio General Jose Maria Arteaga in Santiago de Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico. The show aired on Fox Latin America and on YouTube for anyone who wanted to catch it online.

Here’s what went down.

Mr. Iguana and La Parka picked up the win over NGD’s Sanson and Cuatrero. Those two NGD guys have spent time in CMLL and are well-known to lucha fans, so getting beaten by the Iguana and Parka pairing was a notable moment for the babyface side. La Parka is a AAA institution at this point and the crowd always rocks with him when he shows up.

Mr. Iguana has carved out a real following in AAA. The character is goofy on the surface but the guy can actually go in the ring, and he consistently delivers in these multi-man or tag situations on the Fox tapings.

The Creed Brothers also competed on the card.

Julius and Brutus Creed have been making the rounds outside of WWE, and their appearance on AAA on Fox is another data point in what has been an interesting post-WWE stretch for them. Both guys are legitimate amateur wrestling-based workers who translate well across promotions. Their size, athleticism, and intensity stand out on a lucha-heavy card and AAA has been smart to bring in names that international fans already recognize.

AAA on Fox has been a consistent outlet for the promotion to showcase both their homegrown talent and outside names. Tapings from venues like Auditorio General Jose Maria Arteaga give the show a real arena feel rather than the smaller studio-style settings some lucha programming gets stuck with.

The combination of Mexican lucha regulars and international signees is the whole formula AAA has been running for years now, and it still works. You get the hardcore lucha base who show up for guys like La Parka and the NGD, and then you get fans tuning in because they recognize the Creed Brothers from their time in NXT.

AAA has historically been one of the most globally connected promotions on the planet. Their relationships with WWE, Impact, New Japan, and various independents over the years have kept them relevant in conversations that most regional promotions never get included in. Signing or hosting guys like the Creed Brothers keeps that tradition alive.

For fans who want to follow AAA on Fox, YouTube is the easiest access point outside of Latin America. The production quality has been solid and the matches tend to deliver given the talent pool AAA consistently pulls from.

More AAA on Fox tapings are expected to continue rolling out. Keep an eye on the Creed Brothers’ involvement specifically, because if AAA is investing time in featuring them across multiple tapings, there could be a more structured program developing around them down the line.

La Parka and Mr. Iguana getting the win keeps both guys over with the AAA fanbase heading into whatever comes next on the card.
