Adriana Rizzo isn’t rushing anything. After being released from WWE earlier this month along with a wave of NXT cuts, Rizzo has made it clear she’s going to use every single day of her 30-day non-compete window before deciding whether she even wants to continue wrestling.
That kind of pause matters. When a talent takes time to genuinely weigh whether they want to keep going instead of immediately teasing free agency or hyping up their next destination, it usually means the release hit differently than a typical roster cut. Rizzo’s future in wrestling is legitimately up in the air right now, and that’s a real conversation worth paying attention to.
Rizzo was part of the NXT roster before WWE cut her contract in last month’s round of releases. She had been working as part of a faction during her time in NXT, and while she didn’t get a massive on-screen push before her departure, she was building experience on WWE’s developmental brand.
The NXT releases that came alongside Rizzo’s were part of a broader trimming of the roster, which WWE has done periodically as it evaluates talent and reshapes its developmental pipeline. Some of those names tend to resurface in AEW, TNA, or the indie scene relatively quickly. Others step back entirely. Rizzo is clearly not committing to either direction until she’s had time to think.
The fact that she’s publicly talking about the 30-day window suggests she’s being intentional about it. A lot of wrestlers come out of a release hot, already working the rumor mill, already posting cryptic stuff online. Rizzo isn’t doing that. She said she’s waiting until the window closes before she decides, and that’s a different kind of energy than the usual post-release hype cycle.
Whether she comes back to wrestling or steps away, she put in real work on the NXT circuit. The developmental system isn’t easy, and a lot of talent grind through it without ever getting the spotlight they deserved. That’s a tough pill when you’re trying to build a career and the rug gets pulled.
If she does decide to keep going, there’s a full world outside WWE worth exploring. The independent scene has been incredibly active, and promotions like TNA have made a habit of picking up released WWE talent who still have something to prove. AEW has done the same. There’s no shortage of places for a motivated wrestler to land if Rizzo decides the fire is still there.
But right now, she’s not thinking about any of that. She’s taking her time, and honestly, that’s the most grounded thing a wrestler in her position could do.
When the 30 days are up, we’ll find out which way she goes. Until then, it’s her call and she’s not being rushed into making it.
