Giulia Is Promising Brutality After Blake Monroe Handed Her That Loss On SmackDown

Blake Monroe walked into her main roster debut on the October 2 SmackDown and walked out with a win over Giulia. That result clearly did not sit well with Giulia, and now she has a chance to do something about it.

Nick Aldis made it official this week on SmackDown — Giulia and Blake Monroe will meet again on October 23, and this time it’s a Street Fight. Giulia made her position clear heading into it: more brutality, less rules. That is exactly the kind of environment Giulia was built for, and Monroe stepping into a Street Fight this early in her main roster run is a massive test of what she can actually handle.

Monroe’s debut win was a legitimate statement moment. Getting a clean win over Giulia in your first main roster match is not something that happens by accident. WWE was telling fans something with that result, and the fact that they immediately set up a Street Fight rematch means they are leaning into this rivalry hard rather than treating it as a one-off upset.

Giulia has been one of the most compelling additions to the SmackDown women’s division since arriving from NXT. She carried a dominant run there that included a reign as NXT Women’s Champion, and her style has always leaned toward the physical and the aggressive. A Street Fight with no rules to worry about plays directly into her strengths.

Monroe, on the other hand, is still an unknown quantity to a lot of the main roster audience. Her debut win gave her instant credibility, but credibility and momentum are two different things. Surviving a Street Fight against someone like Giulia would cement her as a real player in the division. Losing it, especially in brutal fashion, would reframe that debut win as a fluke rather than a sign of things to come.

The Street Fight stipulation also raises the stakes for Giulia personally. She does not come across as someone who takes losses lightly, and the way she has responded publicly — promising brutality — signals that she is treating October 23 as a correction, not just a rematch. How that match unfolds will say a lot about where both women are headed on SmackDown.

This is a rivalry worth paying attention to right now. Both wrestlers have something real to prove, the stipulation gives the match room to get physical and memorable, and the booking so far has given fans a reason to care about the outcome either way.

SmackDown airs Friday nights on USA Network. The Street Fight between Giulia and Blake Monroe is set for the October 23 episode.
