Oba Femi is going to the King of the Ring finals, and honestly, it was never really in doubt.
Monday Night Raw’s main event slot went to the King of the Ring semifinal between Oba Femi and Dominik Mysterio, and Dirty Dom tried everything he had to pull off the upset. In the closing moments, Mysterio went low — literal low blow — trying to steal a win he had no business getting any other way.
It didn’t work. Femi absorbed it, powered through, and put Dominik away to punch his ticket to the finals.
That’s just who Oba Femi is right now. The man is built like a skyscraper and wrestles like he knows it. He’s been one of the most physically imposing presences on the entire WWE roster since his NXT run, where he held the NXT Championship and made it look easy. The jump to the main roster hasn’t slowed him down one bit — if anything, Raw has given him a bigger stage to remind people what he’s capable of.
Dominik, for his part, has carved out a genuinely entertaining character as the cowardly heel who survives on interference and shortcuts. The low blow spot fit perfectly in his wheelhouse. But Femi isn’t the kind of opponent those tricks work on. You can’t cheap-shot your way past someone who just shrugs it off and hits you harder.
The King of the Ring tournament has historically been a launching pad for major pushes. The list of past winners includes some of the biggest names in WWE history — Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Sheamus. Winning this thing means something. A Femi victory at the finals would immediately slot him into upper card conversations in a way that feels completely earned rather than forced.
The other semifinal will determine who Femi faces in the finals, and that matchup is going to tell us a lot about where WWE sees this whole thing going. If they’re putting Femi in the final, they clearly believe in him. The question is whether they’re ready to hand him the crown or if this is still a building block moment.
Given the way they’ve protected him and the reaction he’s been getting, it would be genuinely surprising if they pulled the rug out here. Femi winning King of the Ring feels like the obvious next step in a push that’s been methodical and deliberate from the jump.
Dirty Dom did what Dirty Dom does. He cheated, he schemed, and he still lost. Oba Femi is just built different, and WWE Raw made sure everyone watching understood that on Monday night.
